Chase Community Giving
Chase Community Giving empowers customers & employees to nominate charities to compete for a total of $7.5 million of funding. Charities with the most votes from the public win a larger share of the funding.
In September 2012, 30,000 charities were nominated, and after two weeks of voting on Facebook, $5 million was donated to 196 charities across the United States. Chase Community Giving was launched in 2009.

The Dell Social Innovation Challenge recognises and supports young social innovators who dedicate themselves to addressing the world’s biggest problems. The issues they deal with are related to economic development, education, energy, food and sustenance, health and human rights. Participants can register on dellchallenge.org The challenge is divided into 3 rounds: Entry, Semi-Final and Final. Individuals or teams must create a Project Page and complete all required fields including information about the members, the idea, why it will work and so on. Read More>>
Starbucks has labelled April 2012 as ‘The Starbucks Global Month of Service’. To this end, it is investing $4 million in more than 120 US non-profit organisations to create a better community.
Money will be allocated on the basis of votes on http://www.votegivegrow.com. Voting began on April 1 and will conclude at 11.59 pm PDT on April 30; results will be announced in early May.
Voters have to be from the US and must have a Starbucks card.
Spark the Rise is a digital platform for motivated people to come and join forces to tackle issues in India today. The platform is all about creating and sharing innovative ideas that can help resolve the major issues that Indians face.
Anybody with an idea can submit project plans or ‘Sparks’. The company will then provide grants to the best 8 project plans every month that fall under one of the five categories, namely, technology, energy, agriculture and rural development, infrastructure and transportation, and lastly, social entrepreneurship. Intel Innovators was launched as a contest on December 1, 2011, on the firm’s Facebook page. It gives young people in the US a chance to change the world through technology by coming up with ground-breaking business ideas. Every month, Intel awards up to $100,000 to the best ideas based on support from members of the Facebook community and a live pitch where the top five innovators face off.
The programme’s initial run is for three months. It’s possible that, if the contest does well, it would be rolled out internationally later this year. Read More>>
