Firm continues to strengthen its senior counsel bench to provide data & insights-based integrated marketing communications solutions geared towards creating true impact for businesses and brands

Singapore, June 17, 2014: MSLGROUP, the strategic communications and engagement consultancy of Publicis Groupe, and the largest brand and reputation advisory network in Asia and Europe, today announced the strategic appointment of Steve Dormon as Director of the Consumer Practice in Singapore. This hire sees MSLGROUP further cement its leading position in integrated marketing communications in the region.

In his new role, Dormon will oversee the development of communications strategies across 10 markets for a large global FMCG company, and will lead MSLGROUP teams in developing and effecting marketing communications strategy and campaigns for Singapore based clients across various sectors including spirits, cable TV content, travel and leisure sectors.

Dormon, a 28-year branding and marketing veteran, brings to MSLGROUP a wealth of integrated brand strategy knowledge and experience from developing and driving award-winning campaigns for global brands including British Airways, Coca-Cola, HP, Johnson & Johnson, and Unilever. Previously with global creative agencies Lowe and Partners and Publicis Worldwide, Dormon has worked and counseled key global accounts in Paris, London, and Budapest before arriving in Singapore in 2011.

Steve Dormon said, “What excites me about working at MSLGROUP – the fastest growing communications consultancy in Singapore and Asia, is the company’s vision in reinventing and leading change in the industry. Over the years, I have witnessed a significant market shift with a decline in advertising spend. Dollars are increasingly allocated towards firms like MSLGROUP instead, who has stayed ahead of the curve through integrated marketing communications capabilities grounded in data and insights that actually moves the needle in clients’ businesses.”

“The decision to join MSLGROUP was career-changing but not a difficult one to make. Brands must recognize the importance of integrating their marketing processes, strategy, and tactics so all channels leverage each other for greater success. It is truly impressive to see how MSLGROUP has integrated, bringing together data and insights, creative and social hubs to real-time engagement, led by a strong content-centric approach. This is what makes MSLGROUP stand apart in Asia,” continued Dormon.

Kelvin Yeo, Managing Director, MSLGROUP in Singapore, said: “Tapping on Steve’s creative and integrated agency experience is an indication of the multi-skill, multi-channel approach and capability that MSLGROUP is bringing to its clients. More and more, our clients are seeking insights and counsel to leverage this convergence; MSLGROUP is now more than able to help make a significant difference to their business and organizational goals.”

MSLGROUP has seen unprecedented growth in Singapore and the rest of Asia in recent years. Following the strategic addition of Dormon, the firm is looking to double its senior counsel capability in Singapore in the next few months. From three practices (consumer, B2B/technology and corporate) at the end of 2013, MSLGROUP in Singapore will expand to include three new sectors (digital and social media, healthcare, and government and public affairs).

A string of new hires of the region’s top talent is an affirmation of the firm’s rapid growth in Asia and its increased attractiveness to talent with the breadth and depth of opportunities it offers. The agency also announced the appointment of Tony Wong as the General Manager of MSLGROUP in Hong Kong and James Hawksworth as the Director of MSLGROUP’s Corporate and Financial Practice in Hong Kong earlier this month, in addition to appointing eight new regional practice group leaders and two regional deputy practice group leaders in January 2014.

MSLGROUP in Singapore collaborates closely with its Singapore sister agency Luminous Experiential MSLGROUP to incorporate strategic experiential elements into its corporate and marketing campaigns. All of MSLGROUP’s campaign strategies in Asia are based on thorough data and insights, and geared towards delivering true impact.
