On August 7, China’s State Internet Information Office released new regulations about disseminating news and public information on instant messaging platforms like Tencent’s WeChat. The rules primarily focus on information security and real-name verification, which won’t have a direct impact on public accounts that companies and brands operate. Yet, there are several important points which are listed in this document, requiring some attention.
